Where? Northern School of Contemporary Dance
This is a physical Contemporary Class, which will involve strong, complex and technical sequences in and out of the floor, focusing on quality, initiation, performance and stamina. Throughout the sessions, improvisation will also be explored as part of self development, stemming from a physical intention. The significant factors for the workshop are to develop the dancers' physicality, flexibility, technique, build awareness for textures in movement, stimulate the creative mind, driving from passion, musicality and honesty.
Kristina and Sadé are Co- artistic directors of Alleyne Dance based in London. Over the past four years they have built and developed the company, striving for high quality and excellence as they deliver their two main objectives; performance and education work. Alleyne Dance Workshops are taught internationally in over 18 countries through festivals, institutions, companies and venues. Alleyne Dance has created 10 commissions in over 5 counties. Alleyne Dance is currently touring their first work A Night's Game Internationally and UK. Sadé joined Akram Khan Company in 2012 on the Vertical Road tour and joined Ultima Vez Company for their new production Go Figure Out Yourself 2017. Kristina and Sadé Alleyne worked together with Akram Khan Company creating and performing his production iTMOi, Kaash and the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony Abide with me. They continues to lead workshops internationally as part of A.K.C.T and is part of the re-staging of Akram's past productions. Kristina and Sadé joined Wim Van- dekeybus Ultima Vez Company in 2018 for the new production TrapTown premiering in Autumn 2018.
