When? Monday 5 November - Thursday 8 November, 9.30am - 11am
Where? RJC Dance
The class is developed in an explosive and fluent fusion between principals of floor work and contemporary aspects of Marilena’s own style. It is mainly focusing on spine actions and weight to fully activate the body to redefine directions and achieve to move in a three-dimensional mode while creating momentum and breaking the flow with accents through set sequences.
Marilena graduated from National School of Dance (K.S.O.T) with distinction in 2012. As a member of Hellenic Dance Company she had the chance to work on pieces by famous choreographers such as Akram Khan, Jasmin Vardimon, Martha Graham, Tono Lachky etc and became a close collaborator of Christine Gouzelis and Paul Blackman (Jukstapoz Co). In 2012 she moved to London to work with Jasmin Vardimon - firstly as a performer, later as the Course Leader of JV2 and JVIntensive and today as rehearsal director in the new production “MEDUSA”. Marilena has been delivering workshops in several universities, studios and festivals around Europe.
