The class will start with a gentle warm up. Different improvisation tasks will be used to introduce ideas which will lead us into several movement sequences.Marivi's class is designed to build self-knowledge, confidence, strength, stamina and to challenge your physicality. Come prepared to go upside down and get your shirt sweaty!
Marivi da Silva (Spain) graduated at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2012. She founded DeNada Dance Theatre with Carlos Pons Guerra (2012), where she has created different roles. Marivi was nominated for the 2016 UK Critics' Circle National Dance Awards in the category of 'Outstanding Female Performance: Modern', for Young Man! (DeNada Dance Theatre). Da Silva has also danced for independent companies including Song of the Goat, Sardoville and Instant Dissidence, performing the works of choreographers Ivan Perez Aviles, Luca Silvestrini and Rita Marcalo amongst others. Marivi is also a freelance teacher and lecturer at Leeds Beckett University (U.K) and UCAM (Spain).
