The first week of ProDanceLeeds classes is over, which could be sad, but luckily this pilot project, supported by the Arts Council, will be running for another 25 weeks. So if you didn’t make it this week, don’t despair – there will be more opportunities to swing those furry legs of yours on various dance floors in the city over the next couple of months.
This first week has been brilliant. Could it have been otherwise with the fantastic Anthony Middleton teaching? Anthony was one of the first teachers we were in contact with in the early days of planning this project and he has been incredibly supportive along the way. So, we are very happy that he has taught for us in this very first week! It has been lovely to see so many dancers coming to class during these three days, both familiar faces and new ones. As Mr Middleton said himself, 'Yorkshire has great movers!'
Now we're going to have a bit of a breather, and tend to the sores on our feet that we seem to have accumulated over the last few days. Anthony always dances in socks - we are starting to see why… May you all enjoy the rest before the next class, and see you soon at RJC Dance (the Mandela Centre, Chapeltown Road) where the amazing Azzurra Ardovini will be teaching!
