Teaching this week: Leila McMillan, Tim Casson & James Finnemore

When? Monday 21- Friday 25 September  9.00-10.30am

Where? Northern School of Contemporary Dance

Monday - Wednesday: Flying Low with Leila McMillan.Together we will spiral in and out of the earth, pass through expansion and cohesion, run, slide, learn how to challenge gravity, how to fall, how to rise, and how to command your body.  We will work with efficient pathways to move with speed without forgetting any part of our body.  We will command our body with our voice.  We will pass through the space with unlimited possibilities in curve transforming the environment of dance.  We will be soft, wild and powerfully spontaneous.  Leila's classes will be a fusion of original Flying Low principles from David Zambrano along with her own development.

Thursday: Tim's class is an energetic and challenging mixture of physical work, theatricality, and fun. Classes start from spatial games and improvisation before developing into more structured exercises to develop coordination, connections through the body, the mechanics of floorwork and find the fundamental joy of moving through the space!

Friday: James Finnenmore is a dancer and choreographer. After graduating from NSCD, he has gone on to tour with the Hofesh Shechter Company and has also choreographed performances that have been included at Edinburgh Fringe, The Robin Howard Theatre and Try in House, Norway. As James transitions from performer to chorographer, his classes explore dance and theatre combined.
